A year ago, Hyundai Motor America CEO John Krafcik said the company was open to the idea of a 5.0-liter V-8 Genesis Coupe, but any decision to move forward would depend on feedback from the press and the public. It looks like there may be some movement now, following a recent powertrain technical presentation.
During the presentation, John Juriga is said to have hinted at the possibility of a turbocharged version of the 3.8-liter V-6 currently found in the Genesis Coupe, according to Hyundai Blog. The same engine could also end up in the sedan.
While it’s as yet unclear when, or even if, Hyundai might actually build such a car, the SEMA show, which starts tomorrow, may be a good place to preview just what a V-8 or turbo V-6 Genesis Coupe might look like.
